HAWK Radar

HAWK Radar

Short-Range / X-Band FMCW AESA Radar

The HADES HAWK Radar is a lightweight and rapidly deployable radar system developed for expeditionary Counter-UAS operations and distributed air surveillance missions.

Operating within the X-Band frequency range, HAWK combines advanced FMCW radar processing with AESA antenna technology to enable high-resolution detection, fast refresh rates, and accurate tracking of low-RCS aerial threats, including FPV drones, micro-UAVs, and loitering munitions.

The radar is designed for infrastructure-independent deployment and features low power consumption. This allows the system to function with battery packs and solar power configurations in the field. This enables long-term surveillance in remote areas, temporary operational deployments, and mobile Counter-UAS environments without reliance on fixed infrastructure.

Technical specifications

HAWK supports simultaneous detection and tracking of multiple targets at ranges of up to 32 km, including:

  • Detection of 0.1 m² RCS targets up to 16 km
  • Detection of 0.01 m² RCS targets up to 6 km

Operational architecture

The system can operate fully autonomously with embedded local C2 capabilities, enabling standalone deployment as an independent operational sensor node.

As part of the HADES C4ISR Platform, HAWK contributes to distributed sensor fusion, multi-domain situational awareness, and an integrated Common Operational Picture (COP).

Integration & interfaces

Through open and modular interfaces, the radar can seamlessly integrate within existing third-party operational environments, including Counter-UAS architectures, air defence systems, command environments and national or NATO operational networks.

Deployment Scenarios

Thanks to its lightweight design, rapid deployability, and autonomous operational architecture, HAWK is ideal for:

  • Critical infrastructure protection
  • Airport and port security
  • Border control
  • Telecommunications mast deployments
  • Distributed Counter-UAS Operations
  • Expeditionary force protection
