SEA EAGLE radar at coastal site for maritime surveillance

SEA EAGLE Radar

LONG-RANGE / X-BAND PULSE AESA RADAR

The HADES SEA EAGLE radar is a long-range surveillance radar for maritime domain awareness, coastal surveillance, protection of offshore installations and integrated air and surface surveillance. Developed for use in harsh maritime environments, the SEA EAGLE radar provides reliable detection, tracking and classification of small vessels, drones, helicopters, low-flying aircraft and other low signature targets.
The radar provides continuous situational awareness over coastal waters, harbours, offshore installations and critical maritime infrastructure, enabling operators to respond quickly to emerging threats and changing operational conditions. Its compact design and robust performance allow for deployment on coastal sites, offshore platforms, fixed infrastructure and mobile surveillance units.

SEA EAGLE radar for maritime air and surface surveillance

Unlike the land-based radars in the EAGLE family, the SEA EAGLE radar is specifically optimised for the maritime domain, where air and surface threats must be tracked simultaneously and in challenging conditions. The system combines air surveillance and surface surveillance within a single sensor and maintains effective detection performance under harsh maritime conditions, including sea clutter, coastal environments and complex offshore areas. SEA EAGLE thus covers both low-flying air threats and small vessels that are difficult for conventional radars to distinguish from the sea background.

Operational architecture

The SEA EAGLE radar can operate fully autonomously with integrated local command and control capabilities, enabling standalone deployment as an independent operational sensor node at coastal sites and offshore platforms lacking existing sensor infrastructure.
Within HDS FUSION, the SEA EAGLE radar functions as a maritime sensor layer, merging air and surface surveillance data into a single operational picture. This contributes to distributed sensor fusion, maritime situational awareness, and a Common Operational Picture (COP). In doing so, the radar integrates the maritime domain into the same architecture as the land and air coverage of HAWK, EAGLE, and EAGLE+.

Integration & interfaces

Built according to an open architecture philosophy, the SEA EAGLE radar seamlessly integrates with maritime surveillance systems, coastal security networks, command and control environments, and third-party sensors. The radar supports coupling with AIS, C2, and C4ISR infrastructures and enables deployment within coast guard, naval, offshore security, and critical infrastructure protection environments.
