FOCUS LR Optical System

The FOCUS LR (Fused Optical Counter-UAS Sensor, Long Range) is a hybrid electro-optical PTZ sensor system that combines thermal and optical imaging into a single integrated unit. The system performs reliably in varied light conditions, including complete darkness, delivering clear images of aerial and ground targets at long range. The FOCUS LR has been developed for long-term outdoor deployment in demanding operational environments.

The system features a cooled MWIR thermal camera and a Full HD daylight camera, both equipped with powerful motorized zoom lenses and electronic image stabilisation. An integrated eye-safe laser rangefinder with a range of up to 20 kilometres enables accurate measurement of target distances.

The FOCUS LR supports 360° continuous pan/tilt rotation and features deep-learning-based functions for automatic target tracking, tripwire detection, and classification of objects, persons, and vehicles. The classification models are specifically trained for the detection and tracking of small UAS (Class 1 and 2), making the system effectively deployable as an optical identification layer within a counter-UAS architecture. Thanks to open interface protocols, the system seamlessly integrates with existing C2, sensor fusion, and security platforms, functioning both as a standalone observation post and as part of a larger sensor network.

The FOCUS LR is suitable for monitoring critical infrastructure, border and perimeter security, maritime observation, and integration onto fixed masts, vehicles, and mobile platforms.
