RP-24 MLRS

RP-24 MLRS

Surface-to-Air Hard-Kill

The RP-24 Multiple Launch Rocket System Multiple Launch Rocket System forms the primary hard-kill capability within the Counter-UAS architectures of HADES Defense Systems.

The system is designed for the detection, interception, and elimination of low-flying aerial threats, including UAVs, FPV drones, loitering munitions, and other low-signature targets. Through a combination of sensor data, automated fire control, and air-burst ammunition, the RP-24 offers an effective response against both individual targets and drone swarms.

The MLRS platforms have been developed based on years of experience with rocket artillery systems and represent a modern, modular generation of launch systems designed for precision, reliability and operational flexibility.

Depending on operational requirements, systems can be integrated into fixed locations, mobile platforms, maritime installations, and critical infrastructure environments. Both the number of launch tubes, the calibre, and the system’s configuration can be tailored to the intended deployment profile.

OPERATIONAL FLEXIBILITY

RP-24 supports deployment within diverse operational scenarios, ranging from local object protection to integrated Counter-UAS architectures for military bases, critical infrastructure, and national security environments.

The fire control suite supports Manual, Semi-Automatic, and Fully-Automatic modes, allowing operators to choose between maximum human control or increased response speed depending on the operational situation.

Thanks to the standardised user interface and structured workflow, the system can be deployed by experienced artillery units as well as newly trained personnel.

AMMUNITION & PRECISION TECHNOLOGY

The system uses a modified 57 mm S-5 rocket equipped with an air-burst fragmentation warhead with a lethal radius of over 20 metres per projectile.

The launch tubes are equipped with patented “Sandwich” technology with rifled grooves that stabilise the projectile and contribute to a greater effective range and higher accuracy.

The combination of programmable ignition technology and optimised ballistic performance enables effective interception of both individual UAVs and larger drone formations.

SENSOR-CONTROLLED INTERCEPTION

Although the munition itself is not actively guided, RP-24 uses external radar, RF, and other sensor data to detect, track, and predict the future position of targets.

Combined with automated fire control and programmable air-burst technology, the system supports accurate interception of incoming threats to protect personnel, infrastructure, and operational assets.

When integrated within broader Counter-UAS architectures, the RP-24 can function as the kinetic response layer within a complete sensor-to-effector ecosystem.

BALLISTIC COMPUTER & FIRE CONTROL

The integrated ballistic computer forms the technological heart of the system.

Based on platform orientation, ballistic properties, meteorological conditions, and pre-set safety parameters, the system calculates a complete firing solution within seconds.

The newest generation of fire-control software uses advanced algorithms that analyse and optimise performance under diverse operational conditions. This results in improved stability, accurate fuse timing, and a consistent shot profile.

Despite this level of automation, the operator always remains Human-in-the-Loop. The final deployment decision is manually confirmed, ensuring control, proportionality, and safety in every situation.

Cost-effective protection

By utilising relatively inexpensive ammunition, the RP-24 offers a particularly cost-effective solution against threats which are often considerably less expensive than traditional air defence targets.

This creates a scalable hard-kill capability suitable for prolonged Counter-UAS operations without the disproportionate costs often associated with conventional air defence systems.
